About Me:
Lisa Tarquini is a UK Registered Nutritionist, with the Association for Nutrition, specialising in Women’s Health. With over 20 years as a practising nutritionist Lisa understands the benefits of nutrition to support gut health, hormones, pregnancy and the menopause.
Lisa began her working career after university, in 2002. Between the years 2002 and 2008, Lisa worked with young athletes at a sports academy in Bristol, as well as elite athletes at the University of Bristol and the general population.
During this time, Lisa completed her MSc in Exercise and Nutrition Science.
In 2008, she travelled to Abu Dhabi to work with Army Cadets for the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, as Health Education and Research Section Chief. During this role she designed and implemented the HELP programme: a long-term healthy eating, lifestyle and physical activity intervention to improve the awareness and adoption of healthy living by the Emirati Military Cadets.
Following this experience Lisa moved to Rome, Italy, and cofounded Acttivo, a triathlon training holiday company. During this time Lisa worked with keen age-grouper triathletes aiming for 70.3 and Ironman success. Her main role was to provide strategic sports nutrition advice that complimented training and recovery needs.
In November 2014, Lisa moved to Hong Kong to take on the role as Sport Nutrition Manager at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI). During her six years at the HKSI, Lisa managed a team of nine to provide high performance nutrition to Hong Kong elite athletes on their journey to Olympic and Asian Games success, as well as managing the food provision to both athletes and staff.
Throughout her career Lisa has continued to advance her knowledge in nutrition science. She became certified in the low FODMAP diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, in 2018, after noticing that athletes were struggling with gut issues during training and competition. Furthermore she is certified in Food, Exercise and the Gut, from Monash University and Counselling for Behaviour Change, from Dieticians of Canada.
Lisa feels compelled to provide sound evidenced-based nutrition support to help women nourish their body. Nutrition is fundamentally the most important thing you can do to manage gut health, mental health and hormone health. My passion is to help women make nutrition a priority so they can thrive.
