About Me:
Kathryn has over 20 years experience in supporting women’s wellbeing and mental health by way of individual therapy, couples therapy, support groups and corporate wellness. She is passionate about providing a non-judgemental environment in which you can feel safe to offload, explore concerns, and learn new strategies to improve your situation.
Kathryn incorporates the principles of mindfulness, positive psychology, and cognitive behavioral therapy, helping to develop self-awareness and find inner-strength. This therapy is targeted at specific life issues and circumstances at the present moment whilst acknowledging we have ingrained patterns of thinking and behaviour from the past. New mindsets, alternative perceptions and strategies are explored as opposed to repeating what we know when it no longer serves us.
Professional Specialities:
Working in Women’s Health, Kathryn has a special interest in anxiety, depression and adjustment during the perinatal period and peri menopause. There are also many other women's health concerns that benefit from Kathryn’s holistic approach to health and wellness, as Kathryn has a strong interest in the mind/body connection.
Kathryn also provides individual and couples therapy for body image, relationships, grief and loss, self confidence, stress and burnout.
As a mindful meditation coach, Kathryn can also teach you to find moments of stillness throughout the day, which can bring dramatic improvements in stressful situations, improve mental clarity, and develop a feeling of being more deeply connected to the present moment.
Personal Special Interests:
Kathryn has lived around Australia and in New Zealand, the USA and Hong Kong, giving her a direct experience and understanding of the joys and challenges of expat life. In her spare time you’ll find Kathryn hiking across Hong Kong, or cooking up a storm to feed family and friends.
Philosophy:
‘The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change’
Carl R. Rogers
Kathryn has relocated to Australia but she is still available for online sessions for all Evolve clients.
