Prenatal physiotherapy appointment

WHAT TO BRING:

  •  Comfortable clothing that you can move around in. Joint Dynamics have lockers and showering facilities if you should need them.

  • Any doctor’s referral or reports that are relevant to your pregnancy

WHEN SHOULD I VISIT:

  • You can visit a physiotherapist while you are pregnant.

  • Should you be experiencing cramping or bleeding we would recommend that you see your physician or OBGYN.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT:

Your Women’s Health physiotherapist is going to discuss many aspects of your pregnancy, your general health and wellbeing and your comfort being active.  They will be looking at things such as:

  • Posture and Alignment

  • Strength and mobility

  • Movement patterns

  • Preparation and education for labour and delivery

  • Education and tools for the early post-partum phase

Of course you should feel free to ask your physiotherapist any questions that you might have. Questions we often get relate to how our body changes during pregnancy, activity during pregnancy, sex while pregnant, continence during and after pregnancy… just to name a few.
