Emma Le Roux
Osteopath
Passionate in helping my clients optimise their well being, I am a vitalistic and wellness based Osteopath and Movement Teacher.
My philosophy is that the body has the innate ability to heal itself given the right environment and healthy actions. These are quality movements, nutrition, sleep and mental outlook. However, modern day stressors can negatively impact this innate ability and so our health can suffer.
Osteopathy considers all the bodily systems and takes a global, holistic approach in viewing the person and not just isolated symptoms. In a consultation, I examine, identify and treat any areas of dysfunction and imbalances contributing to the problem clients are seeking help for.
I use a variety of manual techniques including skilled palpation, joint and spinal manipulation and mobilisation, fascial, soft tissue and visceral release, as well as more subtle cranial techniques.
An avid devotee of movement and exercise for longevity and vitality. I encourage my clients to move regularly as it is pivotal in optimising health and positively influences the state of our nervous system. I have been teaching yoga since 2008 and love helping people discover the joy of experiencing how breath and movement can create space in mind and body. This insight enables my approach to be particularly useful for Yoga practitioners, dancers and athletes. I have benefitted from learning from excellent teachers, most notably Edward Clarke and Nikki Durrant of Tripsichore Yoga London.
